Job Summary
As a medical coder, your role involves translating information from a patient's medical documents into universal medical codes, including physician notes, lab reports, procedures, and diagnoses. Healthcare providers and insurance companies use these standardized codes for billing and record-keeping to ensure accurate medical records.
Key Responsibilities
- Analysing the medical records
- Assigning the CPT, ICD, & Modifiers as required based on the standard operating protocol
- Ensure that all codes are current and active
- Checking the LCD as per the carrier specifications
- Meet daily coding production and quality standards as per SLA
